"Remote work is the future of work". After transitioning from traditional, office-based operations to fully remote work over the past few months, many businesses will soon find themselves in yet another new state: Hybrid collocated and Distributed teams.
With many organizations embracing flexible schedules and remote employees, we’re seeing a trend of leaders managing virtual hybrid teams, made up of employees working in the office or teleworking. Blending remote and in-person interactions poses a new set of challenges to technology, processes, and business structures, often requiring specifically adapted solutions. Information and guidance abound for remote collaboration and the physical safety aspects of returning to the office but thriving in a hybrid state requires targeted planning. One of the most common challenges for leaders in these teams is ensuring that the remote team members feel included and productive, while reducing tensions between in-house employees and their virtual peers.
